Crusaders Cruise Into Break

(Bordeleux Review - CPI):

67,000 exclusively Human fans packed into Crusader Stadium. The Health department had
quaranteed the city, locking down all manholes and other sewer entrances, in an effort to
stop the outbreak of the Plague that has occurred following each Ratmen away game this
year. The result was that the Away Fans were Banned. As compensation, the Cabalvision
network, agreed belatedly to broadcast the Big Match as part of a doubleheader also
featuring the Undead-Brettonian matchup. Regional Elementalists predicted foul weather
and they were entirely correct as the dark clouds broke wide open just after kickoff,
saturating the field with Pouring Rain for the entire game.

The Humans took the opening kick and flailed about for most of the half, first going left, then
going right, finally coming up a little short just before the end of half. There wasn't any
particularly outstanding individual plays, just good Skaven swarming defense. The half
ended with a ho-hum 0-0 tie.

The skaven took the Kick and scored so fast most fans hadn't even settled back into their
seats. That was the wake up call for the Crusaders. The kickoff scattered right up to the line
of scrimage, adjacent to the Skaven's best Rat-Ogre. The Humans elected to work the line
rather than pickup the ball and it cost them as they suffered a turnover midway thru. The rats
pounced on the ball and looked to be in great shape to put the game away. Then the pivotal
event happened, Ash was able to start up his not so trusty chainsaw on the seventh try. He
proceded to cut a wide swath thru the Skaven team KO'ing both Rat-Ogres as well as a
couple others. Finally with time expiring, the new rookie thrower was able to grab the slick
ball (on his second try) and lob a quick pass to a receiver who was able to tie it up as the
clock expired.

The Humans won the toss in OT. Only 1 of the 6 Rats in the KO box was able to shake off
the cobwebs and come back to play the extra period.Amazingly, the Skaven made a gut
check and mounted a ferocious defense, stifling the humans drive left, right, middle, leaving
the Humans little choice but to try a single desperate manuever , a lateral to a blitzer who
pushed it into the EZ as the OT period flintlock sounded.

Roster Moves:
Kept 160K worth of lucre in hand.
     FF +1

Injury Report:
      None.

Commentary from da Coach: First Half my guys couldn't make any roll of
consequence. Chainsaw started finally on the 7th attempt, and then really proceded to
remove half of the Skaven team.
