Underwald and His Lackeys Taste the Bitter Flavor of Defeat.

The saurapods from Axlotl overcame early game jitters and prevailed in a 3-1 victory over
Oberwald and his ilk. Word was that the Commissioner himself in a show of goodwill,
turned over his coaching duties to recently retired Skink Tu inorder to make a display of Fair
and Balanced sportsmanship out of Loco this week. The Commiss let it be known that he
would have a zero tolerance policy for any of the underhanded shenanagins that have been
widespread thru out the league. That Axlotl Loco would be a shining beacon of upstanding
play for the rest of the season. In an unrelated note, Lizard star Xtiki-xtiki did not suit for the
game leaving the fans wondering where his highly popular throat cutting gesture was.

Loco received the kickoff. Their drive was quickly stopped when Ps'Yx was launched into the
crowd but what appeared to be an excercise Trampoline, carelessly left on the field by the
Pre-Game entertainment, The Oberwald Dancers. Oberwalders recovered the ball and
went up 1-0. The officials certainly were keeping a close eye n the procedings as two
Human players were ejected early on, including their purported Assassin. The lizards fought
off a deep incursion by Griff and ran the ball into the EZ to tie up the game with 2 turns left in
the first half. Griff was denied a chance to retake the lead when Upsiddahed intercepted a
long bomb.

The Humans were stifled early in the second as the Lizards Blitzed them on the kickoff, the
ball scattered into their cage and they were able to recover it and score. GOE's chances of
victory ended as Griff actually tripped the Count on the ensuing kickoff. Again ball scattered
close and was quickly surrounded by lizards. Eventually as time was winding down Loco
was able to tack on a 3rd meaningless score.

Roster Moves:
  • FF +1
  • Hired Skink #14.
  • He failed his physical and his hiring was put on hold. Injury Report: none. Commentary from da Coach: Unlike last week, this game was closer than the margin of victory. Jake had two good cards Under Scrutiny and Trampoline Trap but it wasn't enough. I had indifferent cards, Extra Training and the infamous Magic Hand which I actually got to use! The Almighty Nuffle punished Jake for apothecarying a pogue lineman who was only Badly Hurt, as he lost a Blitzer soon thereafter. Nuffle is merciful though, Griff had a couple of opportunities to meet his Maker and lived to tell the tale. Perhaps Nuffle was just giving a warning.
